This community originated in Egypt. Members fled the Middle East because of the attacks made on Christians. The Islamic State terrorist group bombed various Coptic Christian churches. Their goal was to ultimately drive Christians out of Egypt.
Practices/Services-
This community holds services at 9:30am every Sunday. There’s also a livestream of every service that can be found on both their Facebook They also use three languages; English, Arabic, and Coptic throughout the service.
Distinctive Qualities-
This temple includes an altar and welcomes you with the smell of incense. Members of this community believe in icons. For example, Saint Mary, Jesus, God the Pentecostal, Saint John the Baptist, Saint Mark, and the 12 apostles. This community teaches its younger population the Coptic language. Coptic is a language that our ancestors in Egypt spoke before they were forced to convert to Arabic. Members wear white garments to symbolize angels.
